pherank
A number of GEORGE PLATT LYNES ballet photos are available on eBay - a nice holiday present for someone. I recommend trying the "Make Offer" option:http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR3.TRC2.A0.H0.XGEORGE+PLATT+LYNES.TRS1&_nkw=GEORGE+PLATT+LYNES&_sacat=0 Link to comment

pherank
I'm afraid I grabbed a couple of the choice ones myself befroe passing on the word. ;) If there turn out to be any quality issues (thought I don't expect it) I will let you know. Link to comment
kfw
Thanks, pherank. I made an offer on one of the Orpheus and Eurydice shots, but of course it's mislabeled as for NYCB when it was in fact for the production Balanchine did for the Met. Link to comment
pherank
Thanks, pherank. Good choice - and good luck on the auction. Sellers will often shave off 8 to 10 dollars (at this price point) for Make Offer. You will just have to see. I wish the Toumanova portrait wasn't a signed original - I love that pose. The Bat, Caprichos, Illuminations, Billy the Kid, all exciting to see. The Diana Adams portrait is a great one, but the price was obviously raised for that photo as it is known by the public from the Apollo's Angels book cover. Link to comment
Kathleen O'Connell
Thank you Pherank! I couldn't resist the one of Eglevsky as ... hmmm ...? Neptune? Whatever -- it's gorgeous, he's gorgeous. I wish I could buy them all. And yes, the Toumanova portrait is really something. Link to comment

I just don't want the prices to go up to a point that I can't afford. Link to comment
pherank
The great portrait of Tanny in La Valse costume has been added: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1951-NEW-YORK-CITY-BALLET-Theatre-TANAQUIL-LeCLERCQ-Photo-GEORGE-PLATT-LYNES-/191767150755?hash=item2ca63680a3:g:C6sAAOSwR0JURZf6 Link to comment
