Unemployment

I have been a teacher at a local dance school for over 20 years, and was let go a few weeks ago without warning or reason. My accountant has always told me that I am considered a statutory employee and that I can collect unemployment. He is out of town and I am having a hard time finding anyone who understands the interesting status of us dance teachers. Does anyone have any experience or words of wisdom to share? I'm a little lost right now...

Why don't you go to the unemployment office and try to sign up for unemployment benefits. If you are not eligible, they will certainly tell you that.
