Caesariatus
How do you pronounce Mearns, as in Sara? I was curious, so I tried to look it up on the web, but no luck. Link to comment
volcanohunter
Like 'earn' or 'urn.' You can listen to her say it on this video. Hopefully the link will open to the "photo booth interviews" clip. http://on.aol.com/show/cityballet-517887470/clip/517957279 Link to comment
Caesariatus
Thanks. I sounds to me like /mərnz/ in IPA. (I hope that comes out right in people's browsers.) Link to comment

pherank
How do you pronounce Mearns, as in Sara? I was curious, so I tried to look it up on the web, but no luck. Teresa Reichlen also pronounces the names "Mearns" and "Bouder" at about 00:30 in the Swan Lake episode - perhaps differently from what most Americans would guess at. http://on.aol.com/show/cityballet-517887470/episode/517997072 Link to comment
abatt
Was watching the ESPN intro to tonight's US Open match. As part of the intro, they focused on and filmed the arriving celebs - Chris Biotti, Josh Groban, Taye Diggs and Sara Mearns of the New York City Ballet. They didn't mention that Mearns was arriving with boyfriend Josh Bergasse. I would guess that 98 percent of the ESPN audience had never heard of Mearns. Link to comment
