Ray
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question: what's happened to Gloria Govrin? Last I knew she was out in SF directing the Ballet's school; her name, however, was not in the Company's program this summer at LC Festival. An update on local dance developments by Jane Vranish in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.Ballet studio to open Jean Gedeon's Pittsburgh Youth Ballet will feature Gloria Govrin, formerly of New York City Ballet, in a series of master classes next week. Noted for her tall, strong lines, Govrin danced roles specifically created for her by George Balanchine, including Hippolyta in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Coffee in "Nutcracker." Link to comment
Dale
Govrin retired from the school after the 2005-06 season. There was a press release on the SFB website. (corrected) Link to comment
