To reconstruct last year’s performance, Corpus has this year handpicked a number of artists and cultural figures, who do not necessarily have anything to do with dance. The title says it all. Everything is the same – and yet not quite so. For how will this performance be interpreted by people with an entirely different background and outlook? Hübberiet is an informal and unorthodox concept where talk, debate and dance are interwoven to give audiences the opportunity to view ballet from new angles. Every night has its own unique theme that is explored by inspiring guests and is highlighted by excerpts from the Royal Danish Ballet’s repertoire. A number of artists, thinkers, scientists and others will draw comparisons with other art forms and provide a new interpretation of what ballet is and can be. The aim is to make dance topical and offer social commentary on in the big outside world – and our own little world within the theatre.
