  1. Since you did use my original post in the above response/comments, I will add nothing I posted was negative about playing a parent or any other character role. My comment(s) was specifically RE AB and her post. Other dance companies use soloists and principles in the role of parents in Nutcracker, traditionally this is not the case @NYCB. That’s not to say it couldn’t happen. Traditionally it is the domain of corps, and apprentices.
  2. I thought post was slightly ambiguous, probably on purpose. She said “Sharing the stage with my girl: a dream come true.” She never said she was going to be dancing in the Nutcracker with her daughter on the same stage. (But who knows? ) I cannot see her doing anything technical, and certainly not SPF and/or Dew, at this stage of the game. I highly doubt she would humble herself to be a parent, and being a parent would not be in the same scene (though same stage) as her daughter. Just saying😉
  3. I’m not 100% sure, but I think he’s around 29/30.
  4. YES!!!
  5. Tiler posted on her IG she needed to listen to her body to be fresh for the following week, and take the performance off. https://www.instagram.com/stories/tilerpeck/3462914237085925721/
  6. This casting is just baffling. Nothing against Phelan, but there are three amazing principal women who could kill PC2. Also these three principal women do not seem to be cast very much this season. Regarding casting for Coppelia, I believe I’ve said this before and nothing against Pereira, but why not put Woodward and/or EVE ? Not really sure where management is at. (But of course I am not privy to the ins and outs of NYCB casting decisions.)
  7. Mira Nadon posted a great picture on her IG of her Mozartiana “team,” with Farrell and Walker. https://www.instagram.com/stories/mira_nadon/
  8. I certainly don’t see that at all. (I think they are pretty judicious with her casting.) Just because a role has traditionally been cast in one way or another does not mean it should always be cast that way going forward. I embrace the differences I see with casting. Not only do I think it keeps things interesting, but it’s nice to see different types of dancers perform. I would have no problem with Mira cast in everything. She’s a superstar.
  9. Wonderful news! Really happy to hear this. I had a hunch she’d be doing this (as she’s not cast too much at this point) and GREAT fit for her talents.
  10. Thank you!
  11. Forgot about Woodward. I do believe I saw she and Chan rehearsing the PDD on Instagram a few weeks ago. Question about winter season - what is happening on the first Friday of the first week, January 24? I tried to buy tickets and they’re not available. I know I can call the box office, but I thought someone here might know. Thank you.
  12. Slightly surprised to see Pereira cast as Swanhilda (I know she’s done before) and not Emma von Enck. La Freniere in Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #2 could be very exciting.
  13. She is cast for Summer on the 21st at 7:30 PM.
  14. I couldn’t agree more. Disappointing about no Nadon first week, but how much of this is her rep? I wonder if Nadon is learning Mozartiana, and they just can’t cast her in everything (as much as I would like).
  15. Kind of off topic, if anyone sees casting for Copenhagen Tivoli, please share. Thank you.
