The big news is Ratmansky's reconstructed Swan Lake no more, it goes back to Nureyev's version. Did Ratmansky and La Scala have a falling out? I wish ABT would pick it up and alternate it with Kevin's version instead of the same old same old every year. But I doubt Kevin would want to cut into his royalty income.
Here's the 2019/20 reps:
Sylvia - Legris staging co-production with Vienna
Van Manen/Petit mixed reps
Madina - new full length commission
R&J - MacMillan
Swan Lake - Nureyev
Lady of Camelia
Nutcracker - Balanchine

Now that Kain retirement is announced, who are the candidates to replace her? Cote, McKie, Hodgkinson?

I'm curious, mussel, how about that added duet, and the order of the second and third numbers, the two ballerina variations? Originally, as you probably know, Verdy led the ensemble first number, then Paul had a variation, then Verdy had her "Spinner" variation as the third number. When she retired and Balanchine added the concluding septet, he also put "Spinner" second and the Paul variation as the third number. So I'm wondering how closely Mariinsky sticks to the original sequence (which of course included the remarkable "walking" pdd), which sequence I prefer - when adequate dancers are available. (Edward Villella had Mary Carmen Catoya in his MCB year ago, who, coached by Verdy, danced Verdy's part so well I thought he could have restored the original sequence, but he didn't.) Personally, I'm encouraged that they have dropped the septet.
Mariinsky Emeralds sequence
1st Movement: Verdy ensemble
2nd: Verdy solo
3rd: Paul solo
4th: Pas de Trois
5th: Verdy pdd
6th: Paul pdd
7th: Ensemble
8th: omitted
Why do you prefer the septet to be dropped?

I have a question about the Mariinsky's performance of Emeralds. I see in the casting that only two leads are listed for that ballet. Does the company omit the section that Balanchine added to 'Emeralds' in 1976 = an extra duet and a septet that ends with three men each sinking poetically to one knee. I know that they omitted that section when the Mariinsky (Kirov) toured their Jewels in the US in the arly 2000's (around 2002). Do they continue to omit the 1976 additional choreography?
Are the referring the "walking" pdd? It's not omitted, but the last movement is.

Maia Makhateli of Dutch National Ballet and Dawid Trzensimiech formerly of Royal Ballet will guest 2 of the performances
"With forty eight swans on stage, the production was directed and choreographed by Derek Deane, formerly the Artistic Director of English National Ballet and currently Artistic Director of Shanghai Ballet, with his team. It has toured 96 successful performances in Europe and Australia since December 2015. Featuring principal dancers Wu Husheng and Qi Bingxue as well as international guest stars, the Grand Swan Lake, with more than 80 dancers’ participation, will follow the timeless tragic love story of Princess Odette and Prince Siegfried and feature the timeless music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, played live by the New York City Ballet Orchestra, and conducted by Charles Barker from American Ballet Theatre."

How are the sightlines at the Auditorium Theater? Any sections or seats to avoid? I am thinking of front balcony, any seats there to avoid?

Roddy Doble (formerly with ABT before joining BB) is also leaving, for Les Grand Ballets Canadiens of Montreal as a principal dancer.

WOW! I am really shocked and dismayed by the number of Ashton. only 2, or 45 minutes in total, and only one on the main stage. Sarasota performs more Ashton in one day.

New productions include 3 one-act ballets and Ratmansky's reconstructed (presumably) "Giselle." The company will tour Oman and Taiwan in addition to already announced DC and Chicago.

DaaG rehearsal is being live-streamed at the NYCB Facebook page:

I assume Ratmansky Swan Lake will be in the 20/21 season?

Yes, it's a typo, I meant to type 2020. Maybe the mod can correct the title.

She was a guest at ABT in one performance of Giselle several years ago. Not positive, but I think she was partnered by Cornejo. (Please correct me if somebody has a better memory.) But I've always thought: wow, I would just love to see her again.
It's R&J.

I can't find those images on the KC site or any hint about when we can expect an announcement of the dance season. Any links or info about that?
It's not on KC site, it's on KC Facebook page:

I don't think it's going to be ABT's Lake or Beauty as it did both 3-4 years ago at KC. Just my guess, NYCB for Scotch Symphony, ABT for R&J, Bolshoi for Swan Lake, Mariinsky for Sleeping Beauty. I hope Bolshoi won't bring Ratmansky's R&J as I've seen it with Toronto. I assume Bolshoi will be in Chicago also.

The new season is soon to be announced, the Center posted hints of the upcoming season on its FB page. Looks like it's going to be Swan Lake, R&J, Sleeping Beauty, Scotch Symphony...
