I think the trouble is that for most people if these types of allegations were made they would have been dealt with in house and perhaps go as far as an Industrial Tribunal. Most people wouldn't face being hung out to dry by the press and social media.
The accusations at the RDB were independent of what happened at the Royal Ballet though. So that's two different companies that found problematic behavior from him.

In respect of the ROH investigation I believe it was found that there were no criminal charges to answer as no students were under the age of 18. The timing of the RDB announcement is most peculiar - I understand it relates the incidents that were alleged to have happened in 2018/19 when Liam Scarlett was working there so why wait so long for this?
Of course, Ashton Fan is absolutely correct about the Murdoch press. The original headline after news of his death came out was vile.
Just because there weren't criminal charges doesn't mean there wasn't behavior that merited dismissal.

Apparently Prince Philip didn't want a big state funeral, so he's not going to get one.
RIP to Prince Philip. He sure did inspire great episodes on The Crown. I always felt like their Philip episodes were the best.

That Emeralds was really lovely. One of the loveliest filmed performances of Emeralds I've ever seen. Misa Kuranga was beautiful.

I wasn't that crazy about And the Sky is Not Cloudy All Day ...

I loved Pictures at an Exhibition.

Glad she's on the mend. Get your shots.

Did anyone find the aspect ratio of the video odd? It seems as if the dancers look artificially elongated.

A lot of companies had to think on their feet this pandemic year. What we learned was that what we were previously told was "impossible" because of all the permissions and the unions actually became possible.
I think ABT's streaming offerings have been extremely thin compared to other companies.

I just didn;t think the company had enough speed and sharpness for Concerto Barocco.

It might be uncomfortable to have a foreign artistic director for "America's Ballet Company," as per an act of Congress. Ratmansky became a US citizen a few years ago (as proudly announced on Facebook). Baryshnikov defected to the US and became a US citizen in the 1980s. But I wonder how recruiting someone like Rojo or Acosta or Vishneva would play. Dancers, sure, but THE artistic director??
Balanchine was Russian, Martins was Danish, Helgi Tomasson is Icelandic, Ib Anderssen of Ballet Arizona is Danish, Angel is Spanish, Mikko Nissinen of Boston Ballet is Finnish?

I saw the first program. I did not feel that Concerto Barocco was very idiomatic, although I liked Cast B better than Cast A.

She might not return, but it would be nice if she got a farewell performance of some sort. Same for Stella. Whatever they can dance.

Angel Corella or Julie Kent?

Did anyone watch this? I enjoyed the new Bernstein piece, but the Seasons pas de deux was not as magical as I remembered it in the theater.

Herd immunity should kick in by July if everyone cooperates and gets their shots. I think that makes the September goal doable.

I never see the point of grieving for objectively horrible people. There are so many wonderful people to grieve for. Especially this past year.

By glorifying and beatifying Mr. Scarlett, people ARE blaming the victims, whether they know it or not.
