  1. I agree!! I loved Liturgy and Polyphonia, but that last piece was way too loud! I was in row D on the side and five people from my row left just minutes into it. Not sure how I feel about Odessa. Sara Mearns didn't look as confident as she usually does, not sure what was up. However, Unity Phelan sure is one to watch. She was just stunning in the "Eyes Wide Shut" PDD in Polyphonia. Did anyone else attend the Heather Watts lecture on Agon? Unity performed at that. I didn't know if there was a thread for that elsewhere. It was very interesting.
  2. Does anyone know what happened to James Dunne? I had him as a teacher shortly before he died and the studio wouldn't tell us anything. He was such a great teacher.
  3. I went to see SL last Wed. with Theresa Reichlen and Russell Janzen. I had never seen him dance in a principal role before and was very impressed. He had nice lines and a good stage presence. As for Teresa .... I have always admired her physique and was hoping to see some long legged gorgeousness along the lines of Maria Kowroski. It seemed that she barely used her extension AND her face was completely blank the whole time. For both Odette and Odile! This was even from the front row of the orchestra where I had a clear view of everything. The corps was great at dancing in unison in the swan sections, although in the palace scenes I could have done without the Jester character. When I sit on the far right side of the orchestra I notice that Peter Martins can barely wait until the curtain is down before he can run out and give notes to the dancers. He seems so overbearing and I can't wait to see who his replacement will be when he retires. I have had little respect for him since watching the Wendy Whelan documentary. And please PM, no more new choreography.
  4. I can't wait! I have tickets to several shows so I'll definitely share!
  5. Hello! I've been reading these message boards for some time, so I thought I should make it official and join! I live in New York City and am a huge fan of New York City Ballet. I look forward to being a part of this community! Jessa
