I was surprised no one posted about the Trocks' recent New York season.  Did anyone go?

The Trocks were in Houston this past weekend...I've been dying to see them forever but didn't go.  I'll have plenty of chances next year, though.  I wonder why they haven't been reviewed in the Chronicle yet.

Dunno, Old-Fashioned, but my hunch is that criticss here are waiting out of courtesy to Cal Performances, who're presenting them AGAIN in the Bay Area later this season. the Trocks did have a one-off in San Rafael a week or 2 ago.

Don't miss them. there are certain values in their dancing that are REAL ballet values but you don't see them anywhere else, they're so old-fashioned. And besides, the more you love ballet, and the more you know about it, the funnier they are.

They perform frequently in NYC, though, don't they?  I'm moving next year. :D

Paul, I am intrigued.
I was going to watch them someday (I love comedy of all sorts) but now I'm very interested. And what are the real ballet values you are talking about?

May I recommend two recent articles by Mary Cargill and Leigh Witchel in the Dance View Times about some performances by the Trocks ?

http://www.danceview.../01/Trocks1.htm
http://www.danceview.../01/Trocks2.htm

and also an older article by Leigh on his web site:
