dirac
A review of New York City Ballet by Gia Kourlas in The New York Times. Quote There is a resilience that lives within grace, and Peck shows this too in a later moment of her three-act ballet. Two of her featured dancers, India Bradley and Emma Von Enck, enter from either side of the stage. Each draws a knee high toward the torso as they both pause in silhouette like pillars. Bodies — theirs and others — fill in the space, but their afterimage reverberates. Link to comment
dirac
A review of NYCB by Ivy Lin for Bachtrack. Quote Peck has clearly observed the qualities of her dancers. The ballet is above all a spectacular showcase for Peck’s off-stage boyfriend Roman Mejia. Mejia’s part is much like the slave of Le Corsaire. Lots of fancy jumps, manèges of coupé jetés, and pirouettes à la seconde. He does not have a partner throughout the ballet. Mejia is always so fun to watch. He dances so huge, so full of energy, and it wasn’t a surprise that he got massive applause after every solo. Link to comment
