A review of the Royal Ballet in "Manon" by Louise Levene in The Financial Times.

Quote

Francesca Hayward is physically ideal for the teenage anti-heroine, with a skittish pas de bourrée and liquescent arms, wrists and shoulders. In her 2014 debut she seemed to luxuriate in her apparent power over the men around her, but at Wednesday’s opening she gave a more ambiguous reading, playing the brothel scene with a beta-blocked air, as if numbed by her new life of depravity. Yasmine Naghdi, dancing with Bracewell on Saturday, was a more seasoned sinner, exulting in her apparent triumph as Monsieur GM and a stag line of salivating clients passed her from hand to hand in a ruttish pas de deux à onze.
