dirac
An obituary for Sir Jon Trimmer in The Times. Quote Political support was at a low ebb, money was tight and there were now only eight dancers in the company, but audiences were supportive. For six months this tiny ensemble toured New Zealand performing with piano accompaniment in school halls and gyms. The dancers were responsible for the scenery, lighting and costumes. They stayed with local families because there was no budget for hotels. As the organisation became more stable Tomas, Trimmer’s marmalade cat, joined them on tour. Link to comment
