Quote aken out of its Victorian-era context, the story is a melodrama full of stereotypes and unlikely coincidences – romantic kitsch for some, world literature for others. How Marston shifted the focus to the story’s asset – the heroine’s unswerving strength – is an achievement in itself. She tells most of the story in retrospect, beginning with Jane’s flight through the moor. After having found shelter at the Rivers’ home, Jane recalls what happened before. Events begin to unfold in the present again once St John proposes to her. Link to comment

Quote “I take about 10 hours of class per week and then 12 hours of rehearsal,” said 15-year-old Lucy-Rose Miller. “You’ve spent so many hours in the studio that it’s in your DNA.” She’s one of 89 dancers and 36 musicians in this year’s production.
