Quote The season opens with "Don Quixote," a ballet set to scenes from the classic 17th-century novel by Spain’s Miguel de Cervantes about a landowner in La Mancha who loses his senses after reading too many stories about the knights of chivalry. Originally choreographed by the legendary Marius Petipa in 1869, the ballet has a score by the Austrian composer Ludwig Minkus. Four performances are set for Oct. 28 and 29 at the Rinker Playhouse on the campus of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. Link to comment

Quote To celebrate the company’s Sapphire Anniversary, the program also includes Founding Artistic Director Edward Stewart’s Sapphire Romance and two of his pas de deux: Toujour Amour and Longings. Also honoring the company’s Artistic Director Emeritus, the evening will include Dianna Cuatto’s crowd-favorite Italian Symphonette. This ode to George Balanchine is set to the music of Mendelssohn. Quote The musicians of the New York City Ballet orchestra have voted "overwhelmingly" to authorize a strike as negotiations continue with NYCB management for a new contract. The vote could lead to a strike should negotiations break down. The organization is currently scheduled to present George Balanchine's Jewels September 19-24. Link to comment
