dirac
A review of American Ballet Theatre in "Giselle" by Leigh Witchel for dancelog.nyc. Quote Ballerinas at ABT tend not to shoot up the ranks, and Hurlin is 27. In a convincing way, she seemed younger; her interpretation was fresh and unmannered. Tall and elongated, she was full of active energy. She didn’t do the first act with a downcast gaze, as if all her mime came from the back of her neck. Link to comment
dirac
An obituary for Robin Anderson, the longtime administrator of Scottish Ballet. Quote As a vital force in the company, now renamed in 1974 simply as The Scottish Ballet, Robin was instrumental in building its commercial success and influence in the theatre arts, inviting Margot Fonteyn to tour with them in Australia and New Zealand, Rudolf Nureyev in Spain and arranging tours throughout the UK along with principal productions at the home base in Glasgow at the Theatre Royal.
