Quote “Our focus is making sure the ballets are really alive — whether it’s a ballet made in the ’30s like ‘Serenade,’ or one created this year. What we’re finding with these younger audiences is that they respond to something that they can connect to — whether it’s the diversity they’re seeing on the stage or the diversity of the stories we’re telling. “If something looks a little flat or too polished and safe, they are not going to make the effort to come in. We want things to be on the edge — pushing boundaries with how much energy they’re bringing to the execution.
