Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre gets a government grant, after complaining publicly.

BRBT went public earlier this week with its frustration that it was the only performing arts organization in Baton Rouge  denied a grant from the federal pandemic relief program, while The Penthouse Club received one of the largest grants in the market.

As previously reported by Daily Report, the local strip club secured a $1.1 million grant under the name Baton Rouge Sports Restaurant Inc.,....

Ballet Arkansas offers a series of outdoor performances.

Charleston Ballet returns with "Dracula" and "Nutcracker."

The Lexington Ballet Company hopes to make it back for the 2022-23 season.

Marcin says many of the dancers have chosen to audition for companies elsewhere that have been able to reopen.

She says the dancers never expected the pandemic to take away from their careers for such a long time, losing years of a career that’s already so short.

“Usually dancers retire depending on the person anywhere from 30, maybe even earlier, to in their 40’s if you’re lucky and your body doesn’t give out first.”
