Quote “We have the partnership with the zoo to bring this very unique ballet called carnival of the animals as a part of the awaken the sense program at the zoo to celebrate I believe its the re-launch of the Japanese gardens here,” said director, Stephanie Heston. Quote As in Ashton’s “Symphonic Variations,” made the year before, the arrangement of dancers and use of the upper body suggest classical sculpture and architecture. A woman, Victoria Hulland, is partnered by two men, Ricardo Rhodes and Daniel Pratt. They represent a balance of forces, equilibrium and interdependence, a very Ashtonian theme. "We were given the grant by the city for $52,000 for educational outreach. So we'll be partnering with schools in the fall hopefully once their backs in session, and teaching classes," Dugal said.
