Quote To that end, Hird helped create the company’s flagship trainee program as a way to attract the best up-and-coming dancers from around the world to Sarasota. A trainee program provides a high level of instruction for the most promising talent and introduces that talent to the rigorous work ethic required of professional dancers. Trainees get to live and breathe the artform like it’s a full-time job. They train by day, attend performances by night, and get preferred consideration for professional contracts within the company.
