American Ballet Theatre cancels its season at the Met.

Quote

When the tours were canceled, the dancers began receiving supplemental unemployment benefits, in accordance with their contract. The company said it also “voluntarily paid additional benefits to assist our dancers and stage managers during this period of unexpected tour cancellations.” The plan is for this arrangement to continue through the scheduled spring season rehearsal period.

Miami City Ballet costumers make masks for local hospitals.

“It was very heartwarming for us to see nurses wearing them. I just can’t even imagine how much stress they are going through right now,” Ms. Wolfe said. “It felt amazing to contribute with anything for nurses at this point… It’s a fun craft that we are making and not serious labor, but something that is needed during this crisis.”
