ECat
Oooooohhh!!! Great topic you started! Ekaterina Borchenko has quite a beautiful facility to work with and she uses all of her gifts so well. Those gorgeous legs and feet of hers looked smooth and strong in the Queen of the Dryads. But her Swan Lake is superb! What an actress she is - portraying Odette and Odile with such specificity and depth. I especially loved her Odile. She combines her femininity, lovely face, gorgeous arms and epaulment, and strength using that amazing Vaganova training. Link to comment

ECat
@aqualia2008 I was just watching this video that you had posted on your Youtube channel (to which I am a delighted subscriber): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csKsvS4NJ4I WOW! The subtle nuances that she adds here are tremendous. The tempo in the pas de deux seems a little slow. In her variation she added a fouetté in that pirouette to attitude turn and I LOVED it!!!!!!! The way she uses her head and hands really give her Odile a devilish color! Link to comment

Just finished watching it! Here are my thoughts: The sets for the first act were beautiful. Personally I prefer that all of the corps women wear pointe shoes in that first act rather than character shoes and I thought that the costumes for the two women in the PDT could have been prettier. However, the dancing was lovely and I loved Seigfried's first variation. Lebedev is a truly magnificent dancer. Acts II and IV were lovely. The swans were fantastic as were the three big swans. IMO the cygnets were ALMOST perfect except for the heads. The turning of the heads was spectacular but the amount that the chins were lowered was slightly off. Truly I am just being nitpick here as overall the dancing was magnificent. Act III was great. The Black Swan PDD is usually my favorite and they did not disappoint. Lebedev and Borchenko make a strong pairing. I had already seen this and previously commented but I was reminded how superb they both are. Beautiful Swan Lake indeed! Link to comment
