BALLET 101 is our new four-part series exploring a range of topics relating to ballet both in and out of the studio, including the business of ballet, ballets steps and terminology, coaching, PNB’s 2017-2018 season, touring, ballet acquisition, contemporary ballet, and partnering. Space is limited. Order early. BALLET 101 subscriptions available at a discount. The Nutcracker at 125 is a studio presentation exploring the choreographic roots of the original 1892 Nutcracker and how those live on in George Balanchine’s iconic staging performed by PNB. Rehearsing Swan Lake is a studio presentation focusing on preparation for the dual role of Odette/Odile in Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake. Friday Previews continues with four presentations throughout the season. PNB Conversations & Dress Rehearsal (formerly PNB Lecture Series & Dress Rehearsal) will feature designer Jerome Kaplan, choreographers Crystal Pite, Ezra Thomson, and Yuri Possokhov, and a panel of PNB dancers in casual interview settings prior to dress rehearsal. Ballet Talk (formerly Pre-Performance Lectures) with continues one hour prior to each repertory program (excluding George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®). Meet the Artist (formerly Post-Performance Q&A) continues following each repertory program (excluding George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® and Swan Lake). Paris Previews are studio rehearsals offered in June 2018 featuring ballets the Company will take to the Les Étés de la Danse Festival in Paris in June/July 2018.
