Helene
I got a postcard the other day from Ronald McDonald House Charities: "[W]e raised a record breaking $89,000, which will provide 2,966 nights of housing for seriously ill children and their families." Link to comment
sandik
Good for them -- I used to volunteer for an organization (not Ronald McD) that helped arrange housing and moral support for the families of patients who came to Seattle for bone marrow transplants at Fred Hutchinson. Illness already made their lives so chaotic, and trying to relocate to a new city while their patient was in the middle of such drastic treatment just added to the difficulty -- I'm thrilled that there are coordinated programs like this.
