volcanohunter
The Royal Ballet will stream a discussion and rehearsal of Liam Scarlett's Frankenstein on Thursday, April 7, starting at 7:15 p.m. BST. That's 2:15 pm Eastern and 11:15 am Pacific. The event will feature The Royal Ballet’s Artist-in-Residence Liam Scarlett discussing the creation of his first full-length narrative ballet alongside designer John Macfarlane, who will explain his vision for the production design. Viewers will get a sneak peek of the choreography when dancers from The Royal Ballet rehearse an extract from the performance. This new co-production with San Francisco Ballet has its world premiere at the Royal Opera House on 4 May and this event will provide a glimpse into what audiences can expect from Scarlett’s reimagining of Mary Shelley’s classic gothic tale. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/watch-frankenstein-live-streamed-insight-event Link to comment

volcanohunter
Yes, the videos are usually made available on the ROH YouTube channel, so there's no need to watch furtively at work. Link to comment

volcanohunter
The full stream is now available on demand at the link in the previous post. It includes a rehearsal of a pas de deux with Laura Morera as Elizabeth and Federico Bonelli as Victor, a discussion with Scarlett and designer John Macfarlane, and a rehearsal of a solo for the Creature performed by Ryoichi Hirano. The digital program is being offered free of charge with the promo code FREEFRANK, although at the moment it hasn't been completed and looks a little sparse. Click on the red link that asks, "Do you have a promo code?", type in the code in the box that appears and hit the green "add to basket" button. The "suggested donation" is not mandatory, and you will have to set up an ROH account if you haven't got one already. http://www.roh.org.uk/publications/frankenstein-digital-programme Link to comment
volcanohunter
Now this is mildly frightening: Federico Bonelli hoisting Steven McRae. https://twitter.com/_stevenmcrae/status/721017266385657856 I'm having a hard time imagining Vadim Muntagirov doing this to Ryoichi Hirano, much less Tristan Dyer to Nehemiah Kish! Didn't David Wall say something about the partnering in Mayerling taking about five years off his career? What about this? Link to comment
