Natalia
Did anybody else attend last night's performance of "Kinkan Shonen" by the Japanese butoh troupe Sankai Juku? What do you think about this performance and the troupe, in general? As for me, let's just say that it reminded me of the Zen rock gardens that I visited in Kyoto last year -- an opportunity to contemplate simple yet (mostly) beautiful, inanimate objects. It may not be the typical Kennedy Center audience's cup of tea, as I noticed quite a few people making swift exits from the seats in mid-performance. The 100-minute work is presented without intermission. Shame about the early departures. Link to comment
