pugbee Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I am not familiar with this ballet, but have heard Auber's music and am looking for a recording with the music from the ballet. I have been searching the internet for quite a while, but can't seem to find it. Anyone able to help?
rg Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 i'm not sure this disc is available by itself, but as one part of 10-CD set called FETE DU BALLET [Decca] LES RENDEZ-VOUS (Danile-Francois-Esprit Aubert, Arr. Constant Lambert) can be found on Disc 5, conducted by Richard Bonynge (as are all the discs in this set). originally this disc was released as LP called HOMAGE TO PAVLOVA 2. (the other tracks on the disc are: BALLET EGYPTIEN (Luigini); FRANCOISE DE RIMINI (Thomas); GRAND PAS/PAQUITA (Minkus, Arr. March)
pugbee Posted August 17, 2004 Author Posted August 17, 2004 Thank you! I've seen that set of CDs on the Internet, but didn't know that Les Rendezvous was part of it. Very helpful, thank you.
