  1. Does anyone surmise that Osipova's departure created additional room at the top for this promotion.

    Also, Nadezhda Gracheva retired.

Congratulations to Nina Kaptsova! I thought she would be stuck at soloist level for the rest of her career, and she really deserves her principal status. flowers.gif

  2. This was discussed (a little) in the interview with Yuri Burlaka and Vasily Medvedev during the intermission of the broadcast. Mr Medvedev said that in the grand pas with Fleur de Lys, he used the floor patterns of Petipa, but changed the steps. And he added a male corps to show the world what they could do (I don't recall what he exactly said, but this is the essention of what he said).

This was the example he used, I wonder what he has changed in other scenes..

I think Burlaka also said that all of Perrot's mime was shown in the production.

  3. I was just going through the casting for the upcoming month at the Bolshoi, when I came by Evgenia Obraztsova's name as dancing Kitri on the 16th of October opposite Vladislav Lantratov.

She is also listed on the 'Guest Stars' page (in fact, she's the only one listed there)

In the same performance, Olga Smirnova will debut in the second grand pas variation (and her first performance with the Bolshoi will be a few days earlier in the Swan Lake pas de trois)

So apparently Evgenia is getting some more (deserved!) stage time, thank you Mr. Filin! :clapping:

  4. I didn't really know where to put this, I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place.

    I came across

today. In the description it says 'Настя Заклинская', Nastya Zaklinskaya. Could this be the daughter of Altynai Asylmuratova and her husband Konstantin Zaklinsky?

I know I have read somewhere that she had a daughter that is studying at the Vaganova Academy..

Unfortunately the video's not very sharp and it's not really possible to see who's who, but still nice to get a glimpse.

So, could anyone maybe confirm this?

    Thank you :flowers:
