I want it!
-
Berlin State Ballet has released the Burlaka version on DVD / Blueray too
-
It's nice!
-
Does anyone know if they will they be hosting this again?
-
Was hoping it would be the reconstruction!
-
Anyone know if something like this is in the works next fall - 2016 or even 2017? I know 2018 is the bi-centenary, but just wondering if there is something else on the pipeline?
-
Agreed! So we will be able to access all of it? Except the gala I mean...
-
I hope this book will be translated!
-
The Bolshoi and the Kompozitor publishing house have published it in book form. The presentation took place yesterday at said conference.
Unfortunately the press release is available only in Russian, but here it is:
http://www.bolshoi.ru/upload/medialibrary/2a7/2a7ae8c758d5c87d542e52396a758918.pdf
A short segment on the materials was included in the Bolshoi's portion of World Ballet Day.
Does anyone foresee the book form being translated to English?
-
Agreed - wow. Does anyone know if this will be published or at least somehow made available to the public?
-
Wow, quite inexpensive - a surprise indeed. So it's just a matter of getting there, sleeping and eating then. Is anyone else here going to this?
-
Indeed it does! OK, the site works now! Question - is it really only 45 euro for the whole thing? Thoughts?
-
Thank you Katherine and Sandik. Wine should help my French indeed. I hope they get the website back to the information it had before (now it seems to link to a general website.)
-
Thanks Sandik, Now the website seems to not even redirect one to the information about Petipa. I am thinking to go, but it would be great to know what language the majority of the symposium will be in.
-
Does anyone know if it will all be translated? I would imagine so if there will be many international participants or perhaps there will be a wired translator? The website has an English button but much of it remains in French.

Who wrote the music?
-
Just a note that the Sergeyev [stepanov] notation doesn't mention flirting, etc. There is a note to the effect that the "4th suitor is the best," referring, presumably, to the fact that Aurora does most of her partnered dancing with him. That said, the dance is indeed a pas d'action in which the 4 four suitors court Aurora, and in Ratmansky's staging, the suitors and Aurora interact to this end.
That's cool and explains a lot! I always wondered why the fourth guy gets the most attention in the Rose Adagio.

Guess no DVD? haha
-
This is great, does anyone know if it is indeed available on DVD?
-
Oh, I have never seen this version or variation before! No wonder I was confused - no idea where to find this music!
-
Not sure what this music could be?
-
Thank you for sharing this Helen - sad to learn she has passed away. I agree that it would be great if there was a book made in her memory. Her work is lovely.
-
This looks really cool - It would be great if she published a book of these designs...
-
Wow that is so cool! I had no idea about this - (honestly, I thought it was a hoax at first!) Thanks for sharing...

With the 200th anniversary approaching, does anyone know if there are plans to repeat this or hold something similar next year?
