I worked in luxury retail for a while. I can really dish on the famous as well as the one percent. Joan Rivers was by far the nicest, most generous and funniest (of course!!) person I worked with. ...and she was very tiny which always surprised me. I miss her.

Very good mystery series. England WWI through 30's. First one is " MasieDobbs." By Jacqueline Winspear. Check them out!!
...and let me know if you like them!

And how smart they all are!

Fascinating! Watching the little swans over and over again--what wonderful dancers!
-
Read that Wheeldon is directing a production of Swan Lake for the Joffrey. Does anyone know about a rehearsal to be live-streamed today?

Thank you Helene.

Has anyone met "Masie Dobbs"?

Thank you Barbara! I know I'll hope back to them--I got caught by them immediately. I'll try"Someone..." never read McDermott.
Thanks again and try Gardam!

Jane Gardam: 'God on the Rocks' and the "Old Filth" trilogy. Started to read the "Patrick Melrose" novels by Edward St.Aubyn --extremely funny and extremely cruel. Had to put them down. Has anyone read them? Jane Gardam is a wonder --very very graceful.

I just watched it and was quite moved. There are so many many people like her who have to come to terms with not being the kind of artist they dream to be. But so few movies about them especially with a realistic and happy ending.
I thought Charlotte d'A was wonderful in it.
