Baryshnikov Arts Center Salon: Celebrating Misia Sert

Recommended Posts

I received this notice from the Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC):

On December 16 and 17, baritone Michael Kelly and pianists David Fung and Ramon Rabinovich perform works by Satie and Ravel, in an evening dedicated to Misia Sert, a supporter and confidant of the great impresario Sergei Diaghilev. Muse and patron of painters, composers, choreographers, and writers, Sert was a pivotal figure in the early 20th century arts world in Paris. The BAC Salon concert will give a further nod to the era and to the salon setting by exhibiting Cocteau's drawing of Diaghilev, and set and costume designs by Benois and Bakst from The Mikhail Baryshnikov Collection.

Program:

E.Satie: Three Pieces in the Shape of a Pear

M. Ravel: Histoires naturelles

M. ravel: La valse
