Alexandra
I'm posting this so that others won't wonder, or waste time searching. Dirac, ever eagle-eyed, just emailed me asking if something had happened to the thread on music you've always been afraid someone would make a ballet to -- yes. It's disappeared. We don't know why. We didn't delete it deliberately, and we don't think anyone deleted it accidentally either. It is possible that someone was posting at the same time there was an internet glitch -- that our server happened to disconnect for a few seconds at exactly that time; it happened once before, we think. Otherwise, we don't know why. Please feel free to continue the discussion -- if you want to repost your brilliant ideas, that's fine, too. Link to comment
PK
I just heard that in London an opera about Jerry Springer is coming out! That would make quite a ballet-you can imagine the topics! Link to comment
BalletNut
Ah, yes...who wouldn't want to choreograph to the enchanting rhythms of"Jer-RY, Jer-RY, Jer-RY..." Not to mention the " Shut up! Y'all don't know me!" pas de deux. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Well there actually was a "talk" pas de deux in Twyla Tharp's "Deuce Coupe" to "If ya don't know it, then SHUT UP AND GO HOME!...shut up...shut up...shut up...shut up...shut up/go home...shut up/go home...shut up/go home...etc." Link to comment
dancermom2
How about a salute to Madonna..."Like a Virgin" choreographed like that red pointe shoe ballet in Center Stage? Link to comment
