kfw
There is no link to it unless you subscribe, but today's Wall Street Journal has a very enthusiastic piece by Terry Teachout on Robert Weiss's Carolina Ballet and a recent all-new, all-Stravinsky program. Link to comment
dirac
Thanks for the tip -- I snagged a copy and had a look. The piece is a favorable review, a brief history of the company, and Teachout also chats with Robert Weiss. The program is called "Stravinsky's Clowns" -- yes, Virginia, another program with a Theme -- and consists of new versions of Petrushka, Pulcinella, and Jeu de Cartes. Ominous note: Weiss indicates that the company is okay for money as of this minute, but everyone is underpaid and if they don't get a shot in the arm within the next year, they might be in trouble....
