dirac Posted July 21 Share Posted July 21 New York City Ballet performs "Jewels" at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Quote “Rubies” with pianist Stephen Gosling as soloist with the orchestra brought “oohs” as the audience saw blood-red backdrops, an overhead angular abstract and everyone in red. Steps were fast-paced. There were little steps running in place; men holding the women's ankles to lift a leg or pose and everyone working the angles. Mira Nadon struck several long poses with her leg extended in what seemed an impossible position. Emma von Enck and Anthony Huxley were jaunty, edgy and superb. Gosling got a special bow.
