dirac
A review of Boston Ballet by Iris Fanger in The Patriot Ledger. Quote Together, the two new ballets formed the heart of the 2021 Ball, the annual fund-raiser usually held with all the fanfare and elegance that the ballet community could muster. Hundreds of ballet enthusiasts dressed in formal attire would gather each year to see and be seen while treated to champagne, a sumptuous meal, and a performance by the dancers in works commissioned for the evening. dirac
A review of Australian Ballet by Geraldine Higginson for Dance Australia. Quote The program began and closed with two iconic, yet distinctly different Balanchine works – Serenade and The Four Temperaments. Sandwiched in the middle was a brand-new work choreographed by Pam Tanowitz called Watermark. This is Hallberg’s first choreographic commission for the Australian Ballet and I’m a little sorry to report being largely underwhelmed by it. Every newly commissioned work is a gamble but I expected more from this work based on the choreographer’s critical reception and reputation. Link to comment
