ViolinConcerto
The New York Times has published an obit for Annabelle Lyon, who passed away at age 95. She danced with "American Ballet," and "Ballet Caravan," among other companies. I wanted to post the link to the Times using the link icon, but couldn't. Here is the full link: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/11/arts/dance/annabelle-lyon-dancerwith-balanchine-dies-at-95.html Link to comment
treschic53
She was a good friend of my first teacher, Sylvia Umlas (National Academy) and sometimes would come to the studio and guest teach. As a child, she was my first "real ballerina"! She was kind and lyrical and we all loved when she came. Her movements were fluid and lovely, and she was inspiring to me as a young ballet student. I've never forgotten....50 years later.... hard to believe that she was 95. Link to comment
