dirac
Another modern dance review by Leigh in the Post, this one vividly evoking the Taylor troupe. "Offenbach Overtures," from 1995, is loaded with hoary jokes, but the humor's so endearingly dopey that you laugh in spite of yourself. Parisa Khobdeh was a batty beaux-arts belle baffled by a bit too much absinthe; Laura Halzack, one of Taylor's newest dancers, proved pretty and funny. The evening opened with "Images," a lush work to Debussy from 1977. Not only does Taylor do great things with Debussy, but his company has the hunkiest guys in concert dance - here, they're shirtless. Think of it as art meets Chippendales. Link to comment
