palmettoshorty
Hi, I'm new here, and to ballet. I haven't started taking ballet lessons yet, but I'm kind of skeptic to start. I'm 16 y/o but I would love to start dancing, but I really don't want to be in a group with 5 year olds. It's not about being a beginner, just I'd feel really embarrassed. Would it be worth it? Is there any kind of "old people beginner" type class that I could be able to take? Basically, where do I start? Link to comment
carbro
Hi, palmettoshorty. We are not a board for questions such as yours. Your question really belongs on our sister board, BalletTalk for Dancers. You will find a link at the far right side of the banner atop the page. That is really the place to discuss all matters related to the studio. They have special forums for teens. It is never too late, though, to learn ballet and get great fulfillment and appreciation of the art form. It is probably unrealistic to expect to become a professional classical dancer, though. If you want to discuss performances you've seen -- even on video or tv -- this is the place, and I hope you can join in some of our discussions. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Yes, please tell us what you see here, and then join us over on "The Dark Side" for the grittier matters of "Do-it-yourself"! We have quite a few late starters over there, so you won't want for company. Link to comment
