Great website! I agree with Bart's that this was an especially strong season for Ballet Florida. (Full disclosure, my sister, Stephanie Rapp, is a member of the company). I'm looking forward to next season, particularly the debut of Jerry Opdeneker's new piece at the Eissey.

Glad to have your input, csr5z. I'm currently struggling with a borrowed, foreign-keyboard, so I.ll keep my response short. Ballet Florida seems back on an ambitious track, and I hope it pays off for the new season.

Any specific productions you especially liked this past year? What about the Wainrot Rite of Spring? I think this was a big step for both dancers and company -- not only a new style, but a new level of intensity, projection of "roles," new kinds of movement, plus a very, very difficult score.

Right of Spring was not really my taste but I agree it was a bold choice expertly performed. Maria-Angeles Llamas and Tina Martin were especially impressive in that one. One thing I like about the company is the variety of styles it tackles.

Perhaps that's why my favorite shows are the mixed bills. I thought the season-ending mixed bill at the Eissey was as enjoyable a performance as I've seen. Super Straight, The Envelope, and From Far Away were my favorites, but I liked the whole thing.
