Dale Posted December 17, 2004 Share Posted December 17, 2004 NYCB and George Balanchine's The Nutcracker will be featured on "New York Voices," a public affairs show on Channel 13 (New York area) on February December 17 at 9:30pm. I was wondering what happened to all those Nutcracker features on CBS This Morning or 20/20 etc...There's still time to get them in. Link to comment
Dale Posted December 25, 2004 Author Share Posted December 25, 2004 Ok, we missed this one, but maybe it was archieved: NYCB on NPR On Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25 from 8:00am-10:00am National Pubic Radio’s “Weekend Edition” program will feature a segment on the 50th Anniversary of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker™ on WNYC-FM (93.9) in the New York metropolitan area. Among those who will be interviewed are NYCB Principal Dancer Wendy Whelan, Soloist Tom Gold, Children’s Ballet Mistress Garielle Whittle, School of American Ballet students Isabella DeVivo and Ghaleb Kayali and Maria Tallchief, former NYCB Principal Dancer who created the role of the “Sugar Plum Fairy” in 1954. The program will air again on WNYC-AM (820) from 8:00-11:00am on December 25. For additional broadcast times on other NPR stations, you can visit http://www.npr.org/programs/wesat/.
