atm711
"Shut up, honey, you're the next Swan Queen," It's one of the best lines Gable ever uttered in a movie---it rivals his famous line in GWTW. I recognized Dolin---but who was the ballerina who did Swan Lake? Link to comment
carbro
All in all, it sounds like a pretty ballet-literate story. I like the allusion to the end of Swan Lake: Clark and Gene manage to elude their pursuers, plunge into an unspecified body of water, and swim to freedom. Link to comment
floss
"Carnival" (1946?) was on early the other morning. I happened to catch some of it because I had an early meeting. Jenny Pearl (Sally Grey) is a Victorian ballerina in love with a struggling artist. She declines to go to Spain (I think) with him and ends up marrying a possessive Cornish man who ends up killing her. Some ballet performed by Bebe de Roland, and the Carpenter Corp de ballet. Anyone know about them? Link to comment
