  1. bart...that was a great review... ! (I can DEFINITELY picture Jeanette being "over-the-top"... )
  2. This is a clip from an homage paid to the Ballet Russe men, which shows George in a wheelchair. At the very end there's a moment where, at a curtain call, he salutes the audience using the Spectre's arm movements...It is quite lovely...
  3. Richka..it is a true labor of love what you're doing...
  4. ...and introduced by Nijinska in some of the Diaghilev previous incarnations of the ballet way before Ashton, right...?
  5. I'm even more confused now about who these characters are... 1-Aurora's brother-(with the same name as Desire's nemesis...)-dancing with Aurora's sisters...? or 2-King Florestan dancing with Aurora's aunts...?
  6. ...count me as one who would love to read it...
  7. Thanks bart for that beautiful link! Seay looks ADORABLE as Swanilda... (I wish I could see her doing more stuff...)...and Jeanette's BIG GRIN can't be missed as usual, on or off stage...I'm already missing Spiridonakos from the performances...
  8. No, Jack...there are some future concert performances ads, and then the usual supporters ads, the Lexus...the Carnival Cruises and the Bal Harbour Shops...but nothing about ballet...
  9. I usually see M. Kowrosky and Ch. Askegard when they come down to Miami to dance in Ballet Etudes production of the Nutcracker, but this year I haven't seen their names listed on BT website. Maybe they will be a no-show this year...? Just curious...
  10. Chopiniana has been a permanent staple in Alonso's company since its premiere in 1948, and ever since it is danced EVERY SINGLE YEAR...maaaaaaaaany times... I still mourn its absence from my current balletic-viewing spectrum...
  11. Many thanks to Hans, Leonid and Mel! re: Oh, so the family got extended..! So this is Aurora's brother, dancing with her two sisters...SO THERE ARE FOUR KIDS! But...wasn't Florimund another name given to Desire at some point in other productions...?
  12. This topic might have been discussed somewhere else, but I can't find it. What's the historic/choreographic background for the Pas de Trois-(one bailarin, two ballerinas)- that is performed in this production right after the Entrance of all the characters right at the beggining of the Act? -(from the DVD "An Evening with the Royal Ballet"). None of the live productions I've seen include it...(Alonso's, McKenzie's, Villella's..). Is that part of the "original" XIX Century SB design...? Mel, Leonid, Alexandra...?
  13. 11/14/09. No matter how many times have I attended to a performance of Tchaikovsky's "Pathetique", I always get goose bumps while listening to its final movement...the Adagio Lamentoso in B Minor. The slow tempo, the brooding tone...it ALL talks about such anguish, despair...MAJOR suffering... One can only imagine what was going on on his mind at the time...considering that he might HAVE committed suicide just nine days after its premiere... Beautiful job by conductor Alasdair Neale.
  14. ...bart...CANT' WAIT FOR YOUR THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT'S OPEN BARRE!! -(specially that Black Swan...) I couldn't make it...as I predicted, but instead I went to this... https://www.nws.edu/WebSales/ConcertInfo.as...357&pid=858 so..one more time, I guess I couldn't ask for more...right...?
  15. ...just watching "Chopiniana" with Margot and Rudy... What a lovely production! (sight)
  16. I would love to go...specially to see Delgado's Odile, but I don't get off work 'till 7:00 PM on both days..
  17. Miss Correa's Spessivtseva's Solo..just uploaded. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTq1Ya_hBAA

  22. Well, Paul...I DID see Feijoo doing this PDD in Cuba, and with Rolandito Sarabia, BTW...she is the standard that I was mentioning earlier to which I compare every single performance of this piece. She was MAGNIFICENT.
  23. I love Ryder...Portman and keira knightley always seem to me as younger reflections of her...
  24. Does Portman has any ballet background...? Sorry if this a question previously made...
