What is the panorama?
Sorry, maybe a stupid question...
-
So, do they not do the other version anymore? And if not, what happened? It was such a big deal I thought?
-
Great! Is it region ok to play in USA? And is this a safe site to order from, does anyone know?
Thanks for including the link Dr. Coppelius!
-
Yeah, I think that the music for the "Frescoes" section is Pugni; I have a tape from Vaganova Academy and it sounds very similiar to other Pugni scores. Does the full LHH still get performed today?
-
So how do we get it?

I saw this ballet at the Royal, summer of 1999. Carlos Acosta and Viviana Durante were the principals - loved them and the ballet! It's great that it is going to be released!

Well, it's moving time...
I recently have transferred pretty much all of my ballet videos to DVD format, for a multitude of reasons. But one is SPACE! The videos were creating so much clutter. Now the question is, can I just get rid of the videos or donate them somewhere - or does everyone think I should keep them for possible future archiving purposes.
I hope everyone says I can get rid of them - they are taking up so much space and are a moving hassle!
I was just about to get rid of them when I carried the two boxes back upstairs and said "Wait, BalletAlert will know if this is the right decision!"

I think I may do something like the Disney Cartoon. Where somehow Caraboose finds an actual spindle wheel (after they have been burnt) and maybe it can be on wheels or something; I don't know. Interesting arguments, Hans...

Corsaire for me (ABT version)
-
That's right, Mme. Hermine! I forgot about that...
-
And on that note, I was fortunate to be in the original BB production of it back in April of 1997 (as "young merchant.")
-
I prefer the musical arrangement of ABT's version vs. Kirov's

I can't wait!
I just got her in "Pharaoh's Daughter." She is wonderful...
-
Yeah, Rudy Van Dantzig has a Ginestera
-
What exactly is on the cd set?
-
Sorry, don't know much about this one; but, I too am really interested in hearing more!
-
I loved this ballet!
-
I know Dvorak wrote the music, but what exactly is it from? I heard something like "Cypresses" or something like that... Is the music commerically available?
-
OK, NEVERMIND - I just saw Hans post on who's dream is dreamier. I am so dumb, sorry ...
but if you feel like answering go ahead!
Me-
Balanchine (on dvd)
Bruce Wells (and danced in it)
Frederick Ashton's "The Dream" (on dvd)
I don't know, I have been listening to the music and just thought I would ask.
Personally, I like Bruce Well's version the best out of the three. But, I wonder what other versions I should try to see.

Yes, my prayers and thoughts are with all the Londeners and everyone else who has been affected by this tradgedy.

Mine is the Royal's from their Boston/DC tour back in 2001. It was a tragic ending, but in the end Siegfried and Odette are gliding along the lake on a swan (or something like that...) ha ha
But, I liked how he kept some of the Ivanov staging and the music interpolations from Drigo. Very pretty.

Sydney Leonard (Boston Ballet School) and I believe she is still teaching
Violette Verdy, who continues her tenureship at Indiana University.

Tchaikovsky: "Onegin" (music arranged by Stolze)
-
I can't wait to get it!
Congratulations!

This is my dream too! (To be an AD)
I. Jewels
II. Giselle (Maina Gielguld's version)
III. The Nutcracker (hopefully my version)
IV. Dracula (Michael Pink's version)
V. Petite Mort, Sechs Tanz, In the Middle Somewhat Elevated
VI. Allegro Brillante; A Midsummer Night's Dream (Bruce Wells version)
(I hope I have a big budget!)
There are soooooo many dancers I would love to see, so I won't name any specifics.
Interesting topic, I used to always plan ficticious seasons when I would get bored with school work in high school. Ha Ha
