According to a story on BroadwayWorld.com (https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Breaking-News-Betsy-Wolfe-Alexander-Gemignani-and-Margaret-Colin-Join-CAROUSEL-on-Broadway-Full-Cast-Theatre-Announced-20170904) there is a Craig Salstein in the corps of the company.  "The ensemble of Carousel features Colin AndersonYesenia AyalaNicholas BeltonColin Bradbury, Andrei Chagas, Leigh-Ann EstyLaura FeigDavid Michael Garry, Garett HaweRosena M. Note that there are quite a few of these with ballet credentials in that list: Leigh-Ann Esty, Adriana Pierce, and David Prottas, as well as two major SYTYCD alums.

Which explains the cartwheels and the music in the last class Craig Salstein taught at ABT (see Instagram video posted in this thread on Aug. 5) ;)

  2. The andante (second) movement of Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 always makes me a bit weepy but tonight, watching Sara Mearns and Tyler Angle dance Ratmansky's choreography to it for Concerto DSCH, was a two hankie performance. Sara looked as though she could float away on some of those lifts. Thank heavens there was one more movement after the andante to regain my composure before the lights came up.

  3. At the end of this video is the announcement of the dates for the $29 ticket nights: January 23, February 7 and February 23. Tickets go on sale on Monday, January 6 at Noon. On another NYC Ballet topic, the program for January 23 is listed as Kammermusik No. 2, After the Rain Pas de Deux, Concerto Barocco, The Infernal Machine, and Rubies. Programs for the other two dates are not on the web site yet.

P.S. The video is about JR, the artist whose work will be on display at the theater during the winter season.

  4. New York String Orchestra Seminar concert, a Carnegie Hall presentation (not a rental), on December 28. http://www.carnegiehall.org/Calendar/2013/12/28/0800/PM/New-York-String-Orchestra/

Fantastically talented musicians, 16-23 years old, conducted by Jaime Laredo. Leon Fleisher and Johannes String Quartet performing with the students. It is the 45th season of the seminar and Jaime Laredo's 20th anniversary running it -- quite a special occasion.
