In response to Mel's post - I remeber hearing something on NPR (national public radio) in the last year about Isadora's heirs. I remember that there is a big fight about who owns the rights to her choreography...

Although I have never seen any of her choreography, many years ago (too many), I had to do a paper in college for a dance class I was taking. Please note I was a business major. I did it on her, and the most notable thing I remember from that is the way she died. You who know more about her, please correct me if I am wrong...but, I recall that she was strangled by a long flowing scarf she was wearing while riding in an automobile. Is that correct?

I was actually referred by a friend. I am so glad to have found this place. My daughter and I were just commenting that threads so often seem to address the very things with which we are struggling. I enjoy all the things people have to contribute.

Thanks for the suggestions, and for the insight on format differences. This is not something we have encountered, but as I delve into this more deeply, I am happy to know there are issues of which to be aware.

Over the years we have managed to collect a few video tapes and dvd's of excellent performances of classic ballets. At this point we would like to add a few things to our collection. Any recommendations for a good recording of Giselle, Coppelia, Swan Lake?
