I actually enjoyed Makarova and Nagy more than Makarova and Baryshnikov.
My favorite was Kirkland and just about anyone.

Agree on Bugaku.
La Sonnambula
La Valse
The Cage (the duet with the 2nd intruder)

Chickens si, Jesters no.
Swan Lake Ending: The Swan and Siegried die and then they are DEAD., Don't need to see them going to heaven.
Saw Gelsey do it in her Swan, but Carbro has said that it was a technical malfunction.

Bluebirds: Cornejo and Bujones

Thank you Fernando. You made me smile. No easy task.

Unfaithfully Yours, with Rex Harrison and Linda Darnell. Another by Preston Sturges. Harrison is an egomaniacal conductor obsessed with the possibility of his wife’s infidelity.
I literally almost busted a gut when I saw "Unfaithfully Yours" the first time. I was just a kid watching TV at 1AM or so, and laughed so loud when Harrison was trying to fake a murder recording thay I woke up my parents.
The use of music is brilliant.
I'll add "Yojimbo" to the list.

Get Well, PLEASE.

My favorite movie romance was "One Touch of Venus".
Pretty silly movie, but Ava Gardner was my first "crush" at age 5 or 6. It was on Million Dollar Movie on Channel 9 in NYC. 3 times a day for 7 days if I remember correctly. I watched all of 'em.

Anyone else have a favorite "Hays code" moment?
Alfonso Bedoya as Gold Hat in "The Treasure of The Sierra Madre"
"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges."

How would the Trocks deal with nudity???
The Awakening Scene in "Sleeping Beauty".
Our hero is a bit thick and instead of kissing her, he drops his pants, etc.
-
The Searchers
I just don't get it.
There are great movies I don't like (Suna no onna (1964)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058625/ comes to mind), but The Searchers isn't one of those.

It's a Wonderful Life.
I know, I know it's considered a classic by many but I can't stand it
Couldn't agree more.
Oh, gotta run. My doorbell just rang. Another angel just earned his/her wings.

Gelsey Kirkland in The Turning Point.
Very funny (and sad)
Shane; Baryshnikov
Jack Wilson: Alexander Godunov

Actually, Tudor's "Pillar of Fire" calls out for Hollywood casting. Here is my shot at it:
Hagar: Agnes Moorehead/young Bette Davis/Geraldine Page or ???
Older Sister: Gale Sondergaard
Younger Sister: Ann Blyth
Man from the House Opposite: Jeff Chandler
Her Friend: George Brent
You guys can do better - correct my casting.
Now "Fall River Legend"
Lizzie Borden: Judy Davis
You fill in the rest...
I'd go with Bette Davis as Hagar and Agnes Moorehead as Lizzie Borden's stepmother.
Jeff Chandler was great looking in a rugged way, but what a stiff.
Man from the House Opposite: Steve Cochran.
The rest of your casting for "Pillar" is great, FauxPas.

I've never liked it. Saw Flindt's "Triumph of Death". AWFUL!!! Might have been just as bad without the nudity, though.
I guess if someone choreographs an "Emperor's
New Clothes" it would work.

La Sylphide:
Sylph: Vivian Leigh
James: Leslie Howard
Gurn: Richard Todd
Effie: Jeanne Crain
Madge: Alec Guinness
I think Giulietta Masina would make a great Sylph, but I don't know enough about Italian Cinema to fill the other roles.

Ok, confession here: I've never actually seen any of Greta Garbo's films. I know she was the queen of doomed romance -- which ones do you recommend? Ninotchka? Camille? Anna Karenina? Queen Christina? Grand Hotel?
All of 'em.
"Grand Hotel" may not be all that romantic (as Old Fashioned points out) but it's great fun.
Joan Crawford is almost unrecognizable as a sweet, young stenographrer .

A Matter of Life and Death (1946) (USA - Stairway to Heaven)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038733/
Harold and Maude

Perverse, I know.
Richard
In this vein, might I suggest "Leave Her to Heaven"

Jardin Aus Lilas
Please forgive me as I only remember the name of one character:
Caroline: Julie Harris
The Boy She Loves: Farley Granger
The Man She Must Marry: David Brian
The Woman from His Past: Joan Crawford

Isabel Adjani as Giselle
Jean Marais as Albrecht in "Giselle"
Merle Oberon as Nikiya with Maria Montez as Gamzatti, Maria Ouspenskaya as the Aya, Turhan Bey as Solor and Victor Jory as the High Brahmin
Yvonne de Carlo or Maria Montez as Aspicia in "La Fille du Pharaon"
Ingrid Bergman as Odette/Odile
Charles Chaplin as Petrouchka
James Dean as the Prodigal Son
These are just wonderful. though when I first saw Makarova's full length "La Bayadere" I imagined Maria Montez doing both roles and Jon Hall as Solor. Your choices are better.
(actually now that I think of it, I imagined Maria Montez, Jon Hall and Turhan Bey in Bizet's opera "Pearl Fishers"
-
La Belle et la bête
Dark Victory (yeah, a soap opera, but a magnificent soap opera)
-
Arpino's "Trinity".
I couldn't stomach it but it usually brought the house down.
-
Fang as Zulma!!!!I'm so sorry to miss that.Happy to hear that E Cornejo is back and dancing very well. Who was her partner?I can't wait to see her again in Rodeo.
