Those seats are sold for full capacity beginning 9/1/21.   https://www.kennedy-center.org/visit/covid-safety/ Realistically do I expect to see that Miami Nutcracker in a full capacity Opera House?  No.  The KC could use these theatres this summer under DC guidelines with capacity limits:

    • Opera House cap= est 2198*25%= 549 so cap at 500.
    • Eisenhower 1161*.25%=290

Wolf Trap is doing pods like Miami's Nutcracker but the only ballet booked is Maryland Youth Ballet.  I was surprised at no ABT or TWB.  ABT is at the marvelous Salamander [Sheila Johnson resort] outdoors with rain dates perhaps on a dance floor laid on a terrace with limited lawn seating.   Perhaps they will get to stay there pre return to NYC after the arduous tour.

...Thanks too, Buddy, for the heads-up on the company's upcoming visit to the DC area. Quite convenient for me! I checked the George Mason arts-series website and the Georgian troupe is scheduled to dance a mixed bill - "Mostly B" - that includes Balanchine's Serenade, among others.

Calendar | Center for the Arts (gmu.edu)  - scroll down to April 15...

Thanks for the GMU Georgia performance heads-up.  Fine mixed bill: Serenade – Balanchine
Concerto Barocco  Balanchine, Sagalobeli – Possokhov.

...there are really not noticeable "faults" on her physical appearance, she has been lucky to be left along on such matters. That besides the brilliance of her dancing, of course.

Considering flipping Jewels week 2022 at The Kennedy Center from the Maryiinsky to NYCB.  I'd exchange tickets or buy more tickets to see a Tiler Peck Diamonds [T2 in Swan Dive]  especially if paired with Adrian Danchig-Waring [rep Emeralds], Gordon [rep Diamonds], or Mejia [rep Emeralds].

I found that study while searching for the stage dimensions of the Cubans home theatre.  Anyone know that?  Proscenium opening, apron to curtain, curtain to last lines?

As we all need these shots to go to performances, we're not TOO far off topic!

As a season subscriber to the KC Ballet series, I received an email notice yesterday concerning the cancelation of the National Ballet of China's performances in January 2022. The bigger concern is this wording about the reason for the cancelation, as it may provide a clue to what's up with the Mariinsky Ballet's planned visit in April:

Due to COVID-19, the company is holding on international touring until global conditions imp...

Akram Khan is on the schedule for Nov 2021 and Okinawa is in the spring.  We have hope for the Mariinsky which is on for Baden-Baden Dec 2021.

That's actually not true. In my school vaccines are mandatory for extracurricular activities and field trips. You must bring a doctor's note on why you cannot get the vaccine. Religious exemptions are not being accepted at this time.

PNB has language on it's site about social distancing in audience seating.  That reduces capacity.  Health & Safety Policies | Plan Your Visit | Pacific Northwest Ballet (pnb.org)   Perhaps it's best to make your own pod wherever you attend performances.  Safety ranking highest to lowest: PNB  Koch KC.

One issue with schools is social distancing so applying the same concept to a theatre seems valid.   Example  Dozens Of NYC Public School Buildings May Not Be Able To Fit Their Students At 3 Feet Apart This Fall - Gothamist

...I'm so grateful for the opportunity of seeing these ten wonderful ABT dancers perform live...

I loved it.  ABT with 5 pdds live filmed close-up was quite courageous.  No go backs, retakes, or selecting shows from it's house digital vault.  Big thanks to LA Music Center and ABT.  The dancers were marvelous.  The website - no DQ and then magically video+audio appeared during Swan Lake.

The camera work was similar to the live broadcasts from NYC of  CBS's The Ed Sullivan Show which sometimes included  extreme facial closeups like the ABT LA R&J kiss.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i_4kWnC-JU&ab_channel=TheEdSullivanShow

Hi, Maps. I think that I misunderstood your numbering. At 1:45 are the judges with Denis Matvienko furthest to our left.

Using my very limited russian the dancers at 1:45:00 ... The work is Probuzhdeniye (Awakening) by C. Bobrova.

Whose "Zoom wedding this year" ?

The Zoom Wedding would normally have been our flying for a long weekend adventure as happy guests.

Thanks for posting.  Maria Khoreva and Vladimir Shklyarov are at 1:56:29 [surfed]!  I'll view the entire show later on a TV screen.  Who's at 1:45?  The choreography?  It could be done in USA pandemic digital [various hard surfaces].  I seem to delve into where I was in prior years...2  years ago in November was the first time we saw Khoreva - Apollo with Xander Parish in Balanchine at City Center.  Zoom wedding this year. October 2020 was made sadder by the 1 year prior Paquita [regrets on not going to CA have intensified].
