Thank you very much for the analysis!
-
This is definitely not pure Petipa and Ivanov; there's too many Soviet changes with many authentic Petipa and Ivanov material missing.
Could you be more specific?
-
The overall performance is a bit weak (except the ballerina), but I found the production really interesting. Not to be confused with the Messerer version.
-
The full performance. It is the old Mikhailovsky version of Swan Lake (before Messerer), considered the most authentic of all classical productions, the purest Petipa. Recorded in July 2009, it was the last performance.
-
One of the finest and most subtle performances!

What evil looks like! Borchenko as Odile...

I love that photo of Polina, it really captures the essence and elegance of her Odette.
It really does!
-
Another possibility is Polina Semionova...
-
Natalia Osipova in the Mikhailovsky Swan Lake. Most probably she will dance it with the company at the Koch theatre.

Ekaterina Borchenko
Pas de deux from Act 2. This is a tape from the last performance - Borchenko was urgently called to replace Perren and she danced with Ivan Vasiliev. Not only that she is taller than him, but they had to perform after a single rehearsal made just before the show. I think they did it well!

No I think he's just dancing in the Pas d'esclave, which this productions seems to be following the original concept of.
Exactly.

Amy, have you seen the Messerer after Gorsky production?
