Thanks again, amitava, for those dramatic photos. Afternoon of a Faun was especially interesting to me. Even in still photographs, you can sense the intensity and possibly even exagerration of movement (that sideways stretch by Peter Franc!). Bart Cook was in town to set the ballet, as discussed in the following article (linked originally by dirac) in the Houston Chronicle.

The program runs through October 4. Has anyone seen it? Or planning on going next weekend? What did you think.
P.S. I just checked the promotional video. The voice over says: "If it's been a while since you've been to the ballet, you might be surprised at what you see. Houston Ballet. Look at us now." Given the music and the slightly hip imagery, there's a clear implication that this is "not your father's Oldsmobile."

Yay! Thanks so much for sharing these photos! I was happy to see Allison Miller in Symphony in C demis (I believe!)
