Helen, as always, you are correct. I did mean Bar, my mistake. As to ticket prices, it looks like single tickets will now start at $29. Weren't they $25 for the lowest price? Anyway, this is for subscription packages and I cannot find anything about single tickets other than what I just mentioned. They will become available August 1st. This subscription offer is good until July 1, giving you the option to pay for the entire year in 3 installments as long as you order by the deadline. Hope that helps~ these brochures always take awhile to digest...if I see anything else worth mentioning I will post again.

Just received the new brochure for the 2011-2012 seasons beginning Sept 13, January 17, and May 1 respectively. More beautiful photographs of the Soloists and Corps de Ballet members in the same style as the Principal dancers last year. While looking through I see Charles Askegard will be retiring Oct. 9th, 3pm. Program will be Diamonds pas de deux, Episodes, In Memory of..., and Western Symphony. Also noticed a few names missing from the role : Rachel Rutherford, Henry Seth, Dara Johnson, Ellen Bar, and Ellen Ostrom. The last name is no surprise due to the announcement made last week, but the others??

Five new ballets to be debuted, 2 Martins, 2 Wheeldon and 1 Millepied. Galas will be Sept. 22 and May 10. 5 full lengths: Swan Lake(Martins), Jewels, Romeo & Juliet(Martins), Double Feature, and A Midsummer Night's Dream~

Funny you should mention this ballet Violin Concerto!! I awoke with that music in my head this very morning and wondered when it would come back to the rep. Isn't life funny that way? Hope it returns soon!!!

I think it is the House that is opening an hour before each performance, however the performance times remain the same...Tuesday and Wednesdays have always been 7:30pm and Thursday, Friday, Saturday evenings curtain is 8pm. Saturday Matinee is 2pm and Sunday Matinee is 3pm. Having the House open is wonderful. Always hated feeling like a sardine in the lobby. Being able to use the facilities, order drinks/food and hear the wonderful trio playing upstairs has been a treat! Hope they keep this going.

They're all kids to me!!! So fun to see them cut loose! I would think they did this to help attract the younger audience, but who knows?

Are people boycotting this ballet? No one is writing about it. I cannot attend until Saturday evening and would love to hear some comments before then so I can prepare. Anyone?

Thank you for your remarks, chiapuris. You are right about the men, Anthony Huxley and Chase Finlay. I have been awaiting this piece with great anticipation, and hearing your thoughts gives me much to look forward to. Can't wait to hear the music, see the set, and most importantly to me, experience the dancers interpretation of Mr. Martins choreography. Glad to hear you left the theater with a positive outlook. Very glad you realize that indeed, you were lucky to be there!!! Can't wait for Tuesday!!!

Thanks Carbo, I had seen Ashley's sneak preview on Facebook. She is quite a character. Have known her since she was 14! We think the world of her. Unfortunately, I wont be able to catch the piece this time around. Will have to wait until September. The NY Times wasn't quite as generous as your review.

Morgen is not the new Martins piece. It was choreographed in 2001. His new piece for the Architecture of Dance will premiere June 22 and repeat June 23 and 26.
